The History of the Family of Peshwa (in Urdu: پیچو صدای خاندان), also referred to as the History of the Peshwai or Pingalwai (Urdu: پنگلوایاں), is an Urdu short story written by poet Muhammad Iqbal.
Peshwai was written after Iqbal emigrated from India and settled in British ruled Afghanistan. The story was supposed to be based on the memoirs (in Urdu: خلال) of Abdul Ghafoor Khan, a native of Peshawar. However, in the first edition of Peshwai, Iqbal refrained from using the last name of the different Peshwan families, mistakenly calling Iqbal's family Mohammadji, when they were in fact Wali.
